A Passport That Turns Family Outings Into Quests

Explorer Passport gives kids missions to complete at the zoo or museum, with questions matched to each child’s age and a sticker passport that grows with every visit. Staff see what families enjoyed, and what they missed.

How It Works

Five Missions, About an Hour

Each quest has five missions and fits easily inside a typical visit. Families can do it all at once or finish it on their next trip.

1

Find it

Walking directions and a map lead to the exhibit.

2

Look closely

Kids tap off things to spot: a behavior, a habitat detail, a brushstroke.

3

Answer

Kids take turns, each with a question at their own age level.

4

Earn the sticker

Every explorer on the trip gets it in their passport.

Questions come in three age ranges: 4–6, 7–9 and 10–13. A “read it aloud” button helps younger explorers and early readers.

Features

For Families, and for the Place They Visit

Quests are written around each place’s own story, and each quest looks at it through a different lens.

For families

The passport
  • One parent account, up to eight explorers. Each child picks a nickname and an animal sticker.
  • Three quests per place, with themes like animal care, the web of life, and living alongside wildlife.
  • Closed exhibits are skipped automatically, so nobody walks across the zoo to a closed door.
  • Stickers and badges collected across visits and places, in one passport.

For zoo and museum staff

Staff page
  • Open and close exhibits with a reason and a reopen time. Families see it right away.
  • Results: quests started and finished, and how each question went by age range.
  • Exhibit ratings: how much families liked each exhibit, and whether they could see the animals.
  • Visitor insight: members vs. non-members, and home ZIP codes when enough families share one.
  • Downloads for your own reports. No names or emails, ever.
Made for Kids

Privacy and Screen Time, Taken Seriously

The phone is a guide to get kids looking at the real thing, then it goes back in a pocket.

Nicknames Only

No children’s full names, birthdays, photos or locations.

Parent in Charge

The parent or guardian holds the account and can delete it at any time.

Look Up, Not Down

Every mission sends kids back to the exhibit to spot things for themselves.

Totals for Staff

Places see summaries only, never which family did what.
